About me

Since you asked…

My full name’s Jessica but I’m way more comfortable with Jess. I was born and raised in Northern California and I’ve spent the last 9 years appreciating deep dish pizza and all four seasons in Chicago.

I learned I was a perfectionist when my 5th grade teacher said I spent so much time writing and rewriting the number 4 until it looked good that I ended up not getting to the whole math test. I’ve been trying to both embrace and dismiss this habit since.

I geek on personality assessments – StrengthsFinder, MBTI, Love Languages, Enneagram – don’t get me started. Or do. Any chance to understand ourselves and how we interact with one another better: I’m in. If there’s a dance floor, I’m usually on it. I’m happiest in the sun, near salt water, or on top of a mountain. I think the yin and yang is the most wonderful symbol.

I’m a career-changer and am thrilled to finally be doing what I’ve always wanted. Over the course of 2020, I found my love of Adobe software and taking any opportunity to turn things into a creative project. My days currently consist of creating a ton of fun brand work at Soulsight in Chicago.

Peruse my résumé here.

Words I live by

  • Grammar’s important

  • Play the music of the mood you want to be in

  • Always stop to smell flowers and pet dogs

  • Nothing changes if nothing changes

Things I would never do

  • Forget a birthday

  • Ignore a text or email

  • Go to space

  • Turn down ice cream (I’m looking at you, Jeni’s Brambleberry Crisp)

  • Leave the house without Burt’s Bees chapstick
